ABOUT US

European culture in one place.

EUNIC Serbia (European Union National Institutes for Culture) was founded in 2007 with the aim of promoting cultural relations between Serbia and Europe. Our network consists of 20 European cultural institutes and attachés who exchange ideas and develop joint European projects with the desire to help cultural diversity and creativity in Serbia.

EUNIC has four objectives:

  • establishing effective networks for increasing the visibility of cultural diversity in the EU
  • promoting EU cohesion within Europe and conveying the values of the Union to the outside world through joint cultural projects
  • realization of cultural projects in cooperation with the European Commission
  • indicating the importance of culture in international relations

In 2011, the EUNIC network, which was previously informally established, became an organization based in Brussels. EUNIC co-finances the European program Creative Europe since 2014. In addition, in May 2017 the Council of the European Union signed an administrative agreement based on the EU strategy for international cultural relations between EUNIC, the EEAS (European External Action Service) and the European Commission.

Within the “EUNIC Serbia” cluster, 20 European cultural institutes and attachés exchange ideas and develop joint European projects.
